What is a credit?

Pay for the work,
not the buzzword.

A credit is one unit of work AutoInk does on your behalf — drafting an article, running a keyword scan, asking the answer engines whether they're citing you. The cheaper the underlying model and API, the cheaper the credit cost. You always see the meter before you spend.

Can I start free, no card?+
Yes. Free needs no card. You get 20 credits at signup plus 3 credits a month to try the whole pipeline end-to-end — one project, DeepSeek drafts, Google AI Overview tracking. No upgrade prompt blocks the work.
What happens when I run out of credits?+
Runs that would go negative are blocked before they start. You'll see a clear "out of credits" message in the console with two options: buy a top-up pack or upgrade your plan. There is no surprise overage bill — you only spend what you've already paid for.
Do unused credits roll over?+
Plan credits don't — they refill every billing date and replace whatever was left, so each month starts at your full allowance. Top-up packs do roll over and stay on your balance for as long as your subscription is active.
How do annual plans work?+
Annual is roughly two months free — ~17 % off the monthly rate, billed once up front. Your monthly credit allowance stays the same; you just lock the rate in. You can switch monthly ↔ annual at any renewal.
Can I change plans mid-cycle?+
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately, with the new allowance pro-rated for the rest of the cycle. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal so you keep the credits you've already paid for. All managed through the Stripe customer portal — no email back-and-forth.
How do I cancel?+
Same Stripe portal, "Cancel subscription". Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then drops to Free — you keep your projects, your articles, your run history. Markdown + JSON exports are available all the way through.
Refunds?+
If something on our side broke a billing cycle for you, write to hello@autoink.io and we'll handle it manually. We don't have a self-serve refund flow yet — it's also rare enough that a human reply is faster.
What about Enterprise?+
Custom credit allowance, unlimited seats, white-glove onboarding, shared Slack. SSO, SCIM, and SOC 2 are on the roadmap and we'll be straight with you about timeline. Email hello@autoink.io with your team size and we'll get on a 20-minute call.
Who actually owns the content?+
You do. Drafts, final pieces, run history, citation analytics — all of it. Exports are plain Markdown + JSON, and Git-based adapters write straight into your own repo. If you ever leave, the work walks with you.
